However, the pattern of events suggest that this was the result of one or a number of toxins. The glyphosate suggestion is also a good option for consideration. What is certain, the idea that these patients developed their symptoms as a result of breathing on each other, whilst all the other people who were breathed on were not affected, is plainly preposterous.

We're saying that people get sick but there is no proof that any bacteria or viruses or any other microorganisms have ever been shown to cause what is labeled meningitis, which shares symptoms with other diseases and hence is identifiable only via tests such as the one detecting the bacterium supposedly responsible, even though it has never been proven to be the cause of any disease.
My oldest daughter got meningitis (inflammation of the membrane lining the brain). She had just turned 1 yr old. Fever, listless, vomited after nursing and finally had difficulty breathing and began to have convulsions. This was a day after her pediatrician had felt her head and told us he wasn't worried about meningitis, but in any case, he was good enough to tell us what to do in case of this emergency, meaning come straight to the hospital and contact him on the way...(so he was clearly not able to say everything was ok...) In any case, when she began convulsions and couldn't breathe normally, we rushed her to the hospital and they did a spinal tap and bacterial culture and gave her antibiotics right away, along with saline IV and probably some sedative to calm her and help her breathe normally. She recovered fine and has never had an issue like that since.
How and if the treatment actually helped her I cannot know, only that I assume the sedative (if they did give it) calmed her and the antibiotic lowered the inflammation, both helping the acute symptoms.
Only a while later did we begin to suspect that the actual trigger was likely a set of vaccinations she had just had before the episode (we weren't knowledgeable about the contents or risks associated with vaccines at that time, unfortunately and simply trusted in the kind doctors.) I think one of the reasons why actual causes to such conditions are hard, if not impossible, to pinpoint, is that there are various triggers/causes for different people. I doubt it has anything to do with any bacteria causing it. That seems to be one of the more illogical and unlikely culprit given all the details surrounding this incident and the expression of this condition/syptoms in others. I've since realized that all the media hype around anything of this nature is utter tripe and that even the medical pros are either not very well informed or not very logical, even if-- and probably especially if--they are very devoted to current "best-practices", standard protocols, etc...
Thankfully, there are other theories out there that make more sense than germ-theory and virus-theory, whatever that is.
